With a human life you attain the spirit of enlightenment,

Which is the basis for the path to the state of a sugata,

Which brings great mental force, and which equips you to lead all beings.

Neither nāgas, demigods, vidyādharas, garudas, kinnaras, nor snakes attain this path.

or

The path taught by the Buddha

And practiced by him in order to guide the world

Is within the reach of human beings

Endowed with great spiritual power,

But cannot be attained

By gods, nāgas, asuras, garuḍas,

Vidyādharas, kinnaras, and uragas.
